Five ways to go low this weekend.

Out early. The best time of the day.

Going low isn’t about rebuilding your swing on a Saturday morning. It’s the small stuff that saves shots without you noticing. Here are five we swear by.

1. Warm up with purpose

Ten minutes is plenty. A few wedges, a few mid-irons, then the putting green. Start short and finish short, and walk to the first tee feeling the ball come off the middle.

2. Pick a small target

Not “the fairway”. A tree on the horizon, the edge of a bunker, a dark patch of grass. Aim small, miss small.

3. Play to the fat side

Tucked pins are for Sunday on TV. Middle of the green and two putts adds up to a very good card.

“Small targets, smooth tempo, quiet feet.”

4. Speed first on the greens

Most three-putts start with a first putt that finishes well short or long. Get the pace right, leave yourself a tap-in, and walk off happy.

5. Get your feet right

Every swing starts from the ground. A steady base keeps your balance through the ball and your tempo smooth. That’s exactly why we made Suelo: grip pads underfoot and an arch band that holds you snug, so your feet stay put and you can just swing.

Now go low.
